Since the last edition we have decided to make Super the Vertical Olimpo!
The route is entirely on a path, except for a few meters. And a magnificent third half will follow to regain strength!
The race will take place the week before the Italian Fisky Championship Vertical specialty in Chiavenna. What better opportunity for a top preparation?

Vertical Olimpo: its history
The Vertical Olimpo was born with the intent and desire to promote the territory ofAlpago Alto and is organized by the Regola di Irrighe, a small mountain community located at the foot of the Venetian Pre-Alps, made up of 92 inhabitants who, thanks to the help of local volunteers and lovers of the territory from various locations in the Veneto region, have been able to set up a very popular sporting event for ten years. Even internationally.
Alpago is the gateway to the Dolomites: its aerial ridges between Friuli and Veneto are the obligatory point of passage to access the limestone spurs from the plain overlooking the sea of Venice.
The race leads the athletes to reach the summit of the Mount Olimpo, official name Mount Venal with all its 2,212 meters. A development on a positive altitude difference of 1.378 m D + over a length of just over 5 kilometers.
The race of the Vertical Olimpo was born in 2012 as a competition between a few friends. There are only 31 participants in the first edition.
Over the years the number has grown steadily and at the fourth edition of 2014 the members already exceeded one hundred.
In 2021, with the organization of the Tenth Edition, the Vertical Olimpo you do Super, the altitude difference from 1.100 becomes 1.378!
In 2020 they were crowned king and queen of Olympus Henri Aymonod "Aimo", born in 1996, Italian 2020 champion of the Vertical discipline, e Antonella Confortola, born in 1975, former Olympic cross-country skier who now competes mainly in mountain running competitions.
On a day of splendid sunshine and rather cold temperatures, in 2021 Manuel Da Col, born in 1982, from Cadore di Cibiana and specialist in vertical races, he won in 56'03 ".

Super Vertical Olimpo
The departure is located in the center of the town of Irrighe, average altitude 834mt. You go up through the woods up to Casera Cruden. From here you connect to the CAI 935 path until you reach a picket, which is about halfway through the race, and from here you proceed between grass and stones passing near three large caves, the ander. Then it comes to burela, the most vertical and technical point of the race.
After this passage, continue on grassy blades for a difference in height of 300m until you reach an aided traverse that leads to the summit.
Once the climb is over, and therefore the race is over, the athletes will be able to admire a magnificent 360 degree panorama. From the summit you will be able to admire the Alpago basin, the Val Belluna, the Val Cellina and, if you are lucky, even the Adriatic Sea of Venice.
Once you have calmly returned to the place of departure, the traditional and desired third time will be waiting for you, based on music, beer, good food and good company!
